Jamie has been one of the regular presenters of  Newshour on the BBC World Service for the past two years. He also regularly present bulletins on BBC World News TV. He previously spent a year presenting Europe Today, a one hour daily news & current affairs programme on the BBC World Service, focusing on European issues.
 
Between January 2005 and August 2009, he was the BBC World Service Washington Correspondent, covering everything from the Obama election to Hurricane Katrina for BBC TV and Radio. He also presented BBC World News America TV Bulletins.
 
Before that, he spent four years as BBC Paris Correspondent, two years as BBC Warsaw Correspondent, covering events in Eastern Europe, and nearly six years in Moscow as BBC producer and reporter. He has also had stints as a reporter on the Today programme and Newsnight. 
 
He is a fluent Russian and French speaker, and understands and speaks some Polish, in additionto  a smattering of Dutch (thanks to my Dutch wife!).
 
He  presented the BBC World Service coverage of both the Russian, French and US elections in 2012, the latter as  part of the presentation team on the joint Radio 4 and World Service election night programme.
