Allison Curbishley is a former British Olympic athlete who is regularly heard commentating on BBC Five Live radio.
 
Since 2003 Allison has been part of the BBC Five Live commentary team, summarising events on the International athletics circuit and at the major championships. She has worked on three Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing and London), two Paralympic Games (Beijing and London), and the Worlds, Europeans and Commonwealth Games.
 
Outside her BBC Five Live broadcasting commitments Allison has worked with England Netball on their annual International Netball series in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham and London, acting as event MC since 2010.
 
Following retirement from athletics Allison actively assisted in the development of Sporting Ambassadors which evolved into Sporting Champions in the late 90s, teaming up current sporting professionals with schools and community groups to provide positive role models and encourage involvement in sport. 
 
Allison is Co- Director of Extra Mile Media and Events,  organising a variety of events from Celebrity Charity Golf days to corporate dinners/conferences. She is also Co-Director of DS Media and Events, organising the Kielder Marathon, Sunderland City 10K and Half Marathon and the Worcester City 10K and Run Bike Run.
 
Allison's highly successful athletic career spanned 1991-2003 and her major sporting achievements included;
¢ 4 x 400m Relay Semi Finalist, Olympic Games 1996, Atlanta
¢ European Under 23 Champion 400m, 1997
¢ World Student Games 400m Champion, 1997
¢ Semi Finalist World Championships 400m, Athens  
¢ British 400m Champion 1998
¢ European Bronze medallist 4 x 400m relay, 1998
¢ Commonwealth Silver medallist 400m, Kuala Lumpur 1998 representing Scotland
¢ Quarter Finalist 400m, Sydney Olympic Games, 2000
¢ 5th 4 x 400m relay Sydney Olympic Games, 2000
¢ Represented the British Senior team between 1996-2001 attending two Olympic Games, World and European Championships as well as representing Scotland at the Commonwealth Games
¢ She is the current Scottish 400m Record Holder (a record she set in 1998)
