Sharon is the channel’s face of Soaps, hosting ITV’s ‘Evenings With’ stage events with Corrie and Emmerdale cast members. Plus, hosting BAFTA masterclass evenings interviewing cast and executives from some of the UK’s top dramas.
Off screen, Sharon is a scriptwriter, and has penned over 70 soap episodes to date, working across Emmerdale and EastEnders on award-winning storylines and is currently a proud core member of the EastEnders writing team.
Prior to her work television, Sharon spent ten years as a columnist, reporter and TV Editor for the national UK press. Published books include her sparkling journalism memoirs - Tabloid Girl (Sphere), and the spoof self help book, The Naughty Girl’s Guide to Life, (Little,Brown) co-written with the late, great Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
Sharon also edited ‘The Power of Positive Drinking” by Cleo Rocos (Square Peg) which she later adapted into a stage show.
Her fascinating talks, “Behind the Scenes of Showbiz” or “Tales of the Red Carpet”.
The stories can vary from trying to lose weight with Russell Grant, Lauren Harries trying to kill her, setting Jade Goody on the path to stardom and mad nights with Tara PT, rifling through Simon Cowell’s underpants drawer for a story and the night she made Barbara Knox cry. She can tailor it to her audience.
She lives with her partner Paul, and their daughter Betsey, and has used her TV platform to campaign for greater mental health support on infertility and IVF, and tighter regulation of fertility clinics.
